Why we built it this way
Simplicity wins when you’re travelling. We kept the structure light and rigid, organised the interior so essentials have a proper home, and matched the finish to the vehicle so it looks factory – only better.
Stand-out features
Proportioned for the D-MAX at L 1700 × W 1850 × H 900 mm, the canopy mounts to the chassis with black handles and a dust-managed seal. Up top: a heavy-duty roof on three carry bars with a swing-out drop-down ladder. Down low: dual under-tray toolboxes and a colour-matched trundle drawer, plus a fixed spare-wheel carrier on the right. The rear roof visor is painted to match, lighting and plates sit in protected housings, and the 240 V inlet is top-centre on the rear wall.
Inside is set for touring without clutter. On the left-front, our black powder-coated slide-out/drop-down aluminium kitchen carries a Westinghouse dual induction and a carpeted surround. Storage lands with three carpeted aluminium drawers – same layout as your demo Ranger canopy so it feels familiar. The shell is insulated and marine-carpet lined for quieter, cooler travel. Water’s sorted with a 60 L under-tray tank and a 6 LPM pump.
Security and safety: remote central locking on both doors and door-open buzzers. We refit the factory reverse camera, parking sensors and BSMs, so all the driver aids stay live. Current tyres are 265/60R18 with room to step to 265/65R18 later without re-engineering the layout.

A D-MAX that loads faster, cooks cleaner and stays organised — finished to look like it rolled out of Isuzu that way, and ready for long weekends, long highways and the long way home.
